You’re Only Lonely

As I prepare to leave this hotel room, I’ve called home for the last week, I’m desperate to get a hold of my emotions. This has not been easy but will be worth every lonely day.

Less than 24 hours from now I will be in the company of my dad and his lovely wife Fay, eating roasted chicken at one of my favorite restaurants. Quarantine gratefully behind me.

What I‘ve endured is not for the faint of heart and finding words to describe this experience is challenging.

What has kept me focused is who awaits me tomorrow. I waited and prayed for 32 years for the moments I get the privilege to live now. Every little girl longs to feel the love of a daddy. I have watched my husband love our two daughters with all of himself. So much that he put his dreams aside to be home to watch and guide them to be successful young women. Mission complete!

My daddy has shown me nothing but pure unconditional love for the past 5 years. From the first moment he never doubted I was part of him. He knew I was out there in the world somewhere. He was waiting and I was searching.

Yes, this week was lonely, but nothing compared to the miracle… the moment we see each other. Hug each other. We have lots of new memories to make, laughs to share, and tears to cry.

Sometimes there are valuable lessons to learn while we’re alone.

Then you remember we are never truly alone.

”You just call out my name. When you’re only lonely.”
