Chaing Mai...You Have Been So Good To Me!!

I love this City!!! As my time draws near to move on to the next phase of my trip, I will never forget my time spent with my family in this Beautiful city. I know I Will be back again and again! I feel as though this time was meant for me to truly get to know my Dad as a daughter should know her Daddy! He has introduced me to many people who are important in his daily life. I was thrilled to meet them ALL!! One person I wanted to meet was the man that I watch singing with my Dad most everyday while I get ready for work. I felt like I knew him already because he serenades me almost every day on YouTube,(funky pharaoh,is the channel).  I knew when the time came for me to spend time with these two together it would be a moment that I didn't want to ever end. I was correct..

This will be a highlight of my life forever... Now the food... there is no words to describe the food vibe around this city! Anything you want anytime, more fresh than you can ever imagine, healthy and delicious! You could never ask for anything more!! There are more coffee shops here than you could ever count! I have NEVER had anything less than excellent yet! I will be honest and say my family eats some crazy food though! I thought I was an adventurous eater, and I am, until I came here.  I will share just a few of my favorites..

Now for the interesting foods...there are many ... I tried a dish at dinner the other night. It looked like a dish that Elijah makes at home that we call curry eggs. Eggs scrambled really fine with curry. So I thought.

Tasted a little bit similar, but obviously not the same. After I tasted I tried to guess what I had just eaten?? No way would I have ever guessed that I had consumed fire ant eggs mixed with scrambled eggs. The actual egg of those giant red ants that will bite the heck out of you, that we all try to avoid. The Thai people love them, and many other eclectic delicacies. Such as what we had for lunch yesterday...

These are duck feet and fried duck beaks. I have to say, I did not consume either of these. My family on the other hand, love them. I was amazed at how much meat is on a beak. I actually thought about trying it because it did look appetizing. I WILL try it next time. Not the feet, just the beak.

Last, but not least, I will never forget the love of music and guitar I have shared with this man who gave me life 50 years ago. Words will NEVER describe how truly Thankful I am for this opportunity. We jammed, talked about and shared our favorite bands and songs. I watched people adore and just want to be close to him because he is so famous here. The Thai people who know him really do love him and his music. So well respected. That makes me such a proud daughter. He reminds me everyday, several times a day, that he is a proud Father. The was he looks at me makes me feel complete and loved. The power of a Daddy to love his children well, especially a daughter, is so powerful. I think if all men knew this power our world would be a different place.

So, here is to my last day in Chaing Mai, until I return before I fly home... now on to Bangkok to meet and spend time with more family some new and some I spent time with before. I am looking so forward to meeting my siblings that I have yet had the opportunity or pleasure of meeting! My dreams are coming true more everyday....
